All South Kitsap Fire and Rescue Suppression Volunteers
are part of a successful rotating shift to allow better diversity with today's work
and family needs. Similar to the career daily shift rotation, each volunteer
member is assigned a rotating week response period. The shift rotation ensures
that the manpower demands are met on fire scenes at all times while allowing
volunteer members to plan family events and other activities during their off
weeks.
Responding 24-7 is both an unpractical and unsuccessful technique in today's
busy and duel income world.
This shift is referred to as a V-shift. See the V-SOP page
for more information.
